Lead AI Engineer – Financial Services – (m/f/d) – Wiesbaden

About us

We represent a client who are providing an innovative financial services platform – made by and for finance enthusiasts. Focusing on smart technologies, data-driven solutions, and in-depth insurance and investment expertise, the company helps their partners get the most out of consulting services.

To implement their group-wide AI vision, a new in-house AI team is being established. The current need is for an experienced candidate to focus on Large Language Models (LLMs), scalable system architectures, and production-ready AI applications. While also playing a key role in building the team, shaping the technical direction and developing smart solutions with real impact.

Tasks

• Manage and coach a new 6-person group-wide AI development team.
• Design, build, and scale production-ready LLM, RAG, and agentic systems.
• Develop AI Insurance Advisors, policy analysis tools, and automated document processors.
• Select tools and manage scalable enterprise AI infrastructure across cloud or on-prem.
• Connect modular AI pipelines into existing corporate .NET stacks and APIs.
• Partner with IT, business units, and the board from ideation to production.

Profile

• 3+ years working expereince in software development, data science, or AI engineering.
• Advanced skills in LLMs, RAG, agentic systems, and model fine-tuning.
• Proven track record building scalable AI pipelines and LLMOps/MLOps infrastructure.
• Proficiency in Python, vector databases, cloud platforms (Azure/AWS/GCP), and ideally .NET/TypeScript.
• Background in technical mentoring, team leadership, and strategic architecture.
• Fluency in both German and English.
