We are currently recruiting an enthusiastic and energetic high calibre professional for the position Executive Pastry Chef (all gender) for our Maritim Resort & Spa.
Summary of position
The Executive Pastry Chef will be responsible for leading and overseeing all pastry and baking operations, ensuring the highest standards of quality, creativity, and consistency across all outlets. This role combines culinary artistry with strategic leadership, driving innovation while maintaining the hotel’s luxury brand standards.
The Executive Pastry Chef will design and execute world-class dessert menus for restaurants, banquets, and special events, while managing food costs, sourcing premium ingredients, and maintaining strict compliance with food safety and hygiene standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, manage, and inspire all pastry and baking operations across hotel outlets, including restaurants, banquets, room service, and special events
- Conceptualize, develop, and execute innovative, high-quality dessert and pastry menus aligned with the hotel’s luxury brand standards
- Ensure consistent excellence in taste, presentation, and portion control for all pastry offerings
- Oversee recruitment, training, scheduling, and performance management of the pastry team, fostering a culture of creativity, discipline, and continuous improvement
- Collaborate closely with the Executive Chef and culinary leadership on menu planning, seasonal offerings, and special culinary projects
- Source premium ingredients and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors
- Create customized desserts for VIP guests, high-profile events, weddings, and banquets
- Stay current with global pastry trends, techniques, and innovations to elevate the hotel’s culinary reputation
Your skills
Qualification
- Formal culinary or pastry education from a recognized institution; advanced certifications are an advantage
- Minimum of 8–10 years of progressive pastry experience, with at least 3–5 years in a senior leadership role within a five-star hotel, luxury resort, or fine-dining environment
- Demonstrated expertise in classical and contemporary pastry techniques, including desserts, bakery, chocolate, and sugar work
- Strong knowledge of international culinary standards, luxury service expectations, and high-volume banquet operations
Profile
- Proven experience as an Executive Pastry Chef or Senior Pastry Chef within a five-star hotel, luxury resort, or high-end restaurant environment
- Exceptional technical expertise in classical and modern pastry, desserts, chocolate, bakery, and plated presentation
- Solid business acumen, including experience with food cost control, budgeting, inventory management, and waste reduction
- High level of organization, attention to detail, and commitment to consistency and excellence
- Strong understanding of guest experience, personalization, and luxury service expectations
- Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to support special events, banquets, VIP functions, and seasonal demands
