Data Engineer

Our advertising team plays a crucial role in XING's monetization. The team is responsible for developing products that support both the B2B and B2C aspects of the business, and collaborates closely with product, sales, marketing, and data analytics departments. As a backend engineer, you will contribute to the development of features for web, iOS, and Android apps, as well as data-driven products and services.

Your tasks:

• Work with team members and the product team to come up with ideas, develop new product features and support existing features in a diverse, international, and cross-functional set-up.

• Live the complete development cycle, including ideation, task breakdown, coding, writing tests, code reviewing, testing and performing deployments;

• Create, maintain and improve applications using efficient, reusable, and reliable object-oriented ruby code;

• Create, maintain and improve scala applications that support data-driven features and services;

• Use own expertise to assist the team in creating exceptional product features that align best with the company's architectural guidelines.

Your skills:

• Experience working within agile methodologies and devops set-ups;

• Great programming skills in ruby and scala;

• Know how on developing applications using messaging as kafka/rabbit MQ and MySQL and NoSQL databases;

• Good SQL skills;

• Fluent in English.
